ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 i drove 30 miles to collect a bird and had to pay 30 to him as per whu rules talk about taking the p
tippler1 Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 so how come you at to pay was he a non fancer
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 the whu told him it was his and rule states i must pay him i no compremise or suspension
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 yes but i have started a pest control company purely for whu rung bird and invoice whu 30 a time till they remove rule
Michael J Burden Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 That is outragious. Paying 30 quid and collecting it. Where is the good will?
gangster Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 i recently reported 1 the guy was moaning about amtrak costs so i went 40 miles to meet him ...took nothing from the man either........
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 you cant argue rules whu or with its pres
PIGEON_MAN Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 you cant argue rules whu or with its pres Would be interested on reading the actual rule as it is written in the rule book any chance of copying it on here.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 whu rule 62 page25 must reward to eqvelent of currant amtrax chargesalso covers rule 39 page14
Pompey Mick Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Surely that only applies to cover any expences the finder incurs in repatriating the bird, not if you collect it. If not, a rule like that positively encourages stray catching and makes it a lucrative business.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 try telling the pres that his word is final in meet i pointed out this and was told to be quiet
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 and yes it is agood way to make money as the whu are about to recaive invioce for twelve
PIGEON_MAN Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 try telling the pres that his word is final in meet i pointed out this and was told to be quiet Rules are passed by the clubs and it,s members so its up to them to change it,the president is only carrying out is job correctly.
just ask me Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 i recently reported 1 the guy was moaning about amtrak costs so i went 40 miles to meet him ...took nothing from the man either........ fair play gangster but if the birds not worh the price of amtrak u have to wonder why pll keep these birds
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 Rules are passed by the clubs and it,s members so its up to them to change it,the president is only carrying out is job correctly. only whu com agree rules as per the pres final word all comunication is put to him or you are refered to him by sec clubs in whu have no say or its senable members
Guest strapper Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 and yes it is agood way to make money as the whu are about to recaive invioce for twelve if this is the case that the owners of the pigeon, has to pay the finder £30,and then urself collects this money when the owner turns up for that bird, surely then ur doing the same thing ur complaining about? and i dont think the fancier will be too happy with urself as u wasnt with the guy who reported ur bird? there will be no winner in urself charging for finding birds and reporting them, as u urself dissagrees with this ruling. i always thought it was that any costs the finder has getting the bird back to the owner, then the owner should compensate the finder upto the price of sending for the bird?
wings Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I went just this morning 15 miles to meet a guy to return his stray pigeon it will have cost him about 10 pounds to come and collect the bird by road, so hopefully i have saved him 20 pounds from the price of Amtrak i would not have dreamed of asking him for money for looking after it for the week. whu rule 62 page25 must reward to equivalent of currant Amtrak charges also covers rule 39 page14 I think that this rule needs to questioned at WHU next AGM.
PIGEON_MAN Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 only whu com agree rules as per the pres final word all comunication is put to him or you are refered to him by sec clubs in whu have no say or its senable members Surely clubs have a say in any rule changes as we do in the RPRA,it is the commitee that agrees to any propositions for changes in the rules but normally clubs would vote on them beforehand.
Fair Play Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I disagree with any member being told to "Be Quiet" what an advert for the sport.I know rules are rules but there are better ways of carrying them out without being "Dicatorial" Maybe someone has shares in Amtrak,is it not true there are others in opposition at a cheaper rate. All you Welsh should move up North of the Border only costs you a tenner.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wba_paddy Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 if you sent amtrack to collect you bird would it cost £60 to get your bird back.if i am reading it right thats £30 for amtrack and £30 for the catcher?
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 if this is the case that the owners of the pigeon, has to pay the finder £30,and then urself collects this money when the owner turns up for that bird, surely then ur doing the same thing ur complaining about? and i dont think the fancier will be too happy with urself as u wasnt with the guy who reported ur bird? there will be no winner in urself charging for finding birds and reporting them, as u urself dissagrees with this ruling. i always thought it was that any costs the finder has getting the bird back to the owner, then the owner should compensate the finder upto the price of sending for the bird? my problem is with whu rule and if fanciers bury there heads thats up to them iwant the rule removed and my costs reimbursed so whu will pay or do this the fancier could not provide proof of cost to whu or myself but i still had to pay
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Surely that only applies to cover any expences the finder incurs in repatriating the bird, not if you collect it. If not, a rule like that positively encourages stray catching and makes it a lucrative business. Seems like the rule is getting took out of context by the President, my reading of it is for transportation costs. Chriss any chance of shares in your new pest control company.
