weecunny Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 what if there is only 200 birds for wakefeild well dont think ur artic doing that on 200 pound
thunderbigbaws Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 it would cost us just under £1100 to take the birds to wakefield. if every member sent 6 birds we would have appox 1200 pigeons.you don't have to be clever to work that one out
weecunny Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 dont think every member send to every race bad forecast and thats u lost birdage
thunderbigbaws Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 we will see what happens on sunday at the agm.just hope the members see sence and dont think of there own pocket
thunderbigbaws Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 sent you one back mate. see your up and running again
sapper756 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 can i ask your opinion on what if every member sent 6 birds to each race, the birdage would have to start at 40p for the 1st race and double its self each week.by the time we get to wakefield it would cost the members approx 95p a bird Yes I agree with what you are saying, however without members, then even less birds, less fed fees, so where does it all stop/ What I would like to know, is why are we in this position, when you see others saying their fees are £20 etc. surely it costs the same to run a Fed regardless where you live :-/ Also, we can not insist members send a certain number of birds, some only keep small teams and are happy with that, as I said b4, to some people this is a hobby. I have what may be classed as a big team, so therefor I believe I should pay for what I send, Anyway, lets wait till Sunday and all will be addressed. All the best
peterpau Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 As an idea. if the race programme, once decided, is going to cost £20,000. (for easy figures) to transport. This is covered by our 200 members = £100 each, then free birdage up to 25 birds, then 25p per bird thereafter. At least that way, our programme is covered no matter what the birdage is. Only an idea. and yes whatever may happen it will be decided on sunday. Our club and fed fees come to around £130 and birdage is 20p a bird this we find works very well as there's no worries about sending half full transporter when the weather is ify.

All the best hi brian its the cost to run that big motor down the road.if we want a holiday we have to pay it up front. i just feel we have to cover the transport up front. which will be more expencive this season. no matter what happens come sunday if we are all true doo men we will still race our birds
sapper756 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Exactlly m8, heres hoping for a resolution to our problem m8 all the best, see you Sunday
alex wight Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Our club and fed fees come to around £130 and birdage is 20p a bird this we find works very well as there's no worries about sending half full transporter when the weather is ify. This is what our fed needs, but we have a big team verses little team going on in our fed. Whereas it should be, members cover all cost whether they are sending a big team or small team, and whether they go to some races or all. Said what the best way would be before, but fell on deaf ears. If a race is cancelled that would have cost us £2000, then each of our 200 members recieve a £10 discount the following year, unless the saved money goes towards a new, more economical and better equiped transporter. I dont want to see members leaving but i also want to see things done farely. I love my hobby and want to continue doing so, without the politics. IF our fees had went up with the rate of inflation right at the start, we wouldnt be in this predicament. I hope sense is met with sense on sunday. alex.

alex wight Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 At the last count when i done my proposal in 2008, there were 209 members. No-one has a clue how much is in the bank, i asked the same question just the other day. Surely that should be on the balance sheet?
cemetary Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I no how many members are in the federation, who was you asking how much is in the bank. :-/

cemetary Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Am not in the position to broadcast anything to do with the feds finances on an open forum ecky boy, wait till sunday, or pick the phone up and call a friend, have you got any, ;D ;D ;D ;D There is no secret.
alex wight Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I was asking how much membership, not the finances. I have access to pm's, thats if you realy know
