Of course Superstar. Sometimes best to let the dust settle to get a fairer and better picture.

Personally I hope she still has a role to play with the RPRA. But then I hate anyone to lose their job.

Well I don't see much of that Chris. Indeed I personally don't see that Karen has done much at all ... except to emphasise once again what we all know... That Arm chair voices alone stand. Cant see anything whatsoever that doesn't bring home the reality... that after all the shams and backing and championing a cause EVERYTHING will be eactly as it las last week, Year yesteryear.  Ok karen may have lost her job... ole hat that will be too in a couple of weeks or so.

I'd love to be 'Stood Corrected' but there will be very few champions soon.... Mark my words, and that is sad!

Rose we are a little long in the tooth. I have seen outcries, and uproars galore... only once actually seen any thing done about, especially via the members... Dave Allen, and that were done privately.

We have both seen the new Messiahs emerge, and those that actually do get in office quickly fall in line and bow caw.

If any one can tell me I'm wrong squeak up.

I fought a case (first one) back in 1986, the Secretary packed up, and folded the club. was my very first year, I spent 2 years battling with East MIDLANDS, and the end product was, He is right. So he sold everything off, and kept the money. RPRA then says... So! Nowt we can do about that.... see a solicitor. Best of all is, that the NEW president helped our case and told us we were 100% right…. Then led them in them to defeat us!

Next, a club I join, where a fellow goes to the States... was secretary too... does the same, gives the North Road THE cups and trophies etc to the South Rd. Club etc.  I challenged it, no one wanted to know, so he has ready wrote and Folded the club. Always the Same RPRA say their' hands are tied, and set about disfellowshipping  members for least infringements.

So ALL the members have a gripe. Thoses of us that act are less than 1%… by far in the minority.

So every season around this time (The silly Season) they phone and moan around and say what they want, what the will propose etc. Mugging here used to take up the cause and left with crap falling on me. They just sit there and deny everything and say they never said, and I must have got hold of the wrong end of the stick! So I challenge then - well use to - and spout as it is on the agenda we will discuss it... they don't back it! Now already too busy making bullets for their next whinge for some one else to fire.

And the beat goes on. What my posts, topics are about is 'Who will actually stand up and be counted when IN the position to speak, and THEN to vote for change.... Seem very few if any. and yet still week in and week out we will have the same ole balony spouted... struth no wonder thing never get done, let alone changed.

Yes Chris, and this has happen on more than a few occassions and you can take that to the bank. Further you can take that to the bank with interest!

Well the dust has now well and truly settled, and we have a true picture but not surprisingly not a mention of their secret meeting held last friday, other websites are telling that "the powers that be" have passed all T3 clocks to be used without thimbles subject to a drum changeover.Have I just awoke out of a coma, but here we go again passing new rules before an AGM? have they not learned from the ETS fiasco. How many members that contribute finance were allowed to vote on whether we wanted this conversion being approved not only that approved by whome, cannot be "the powers that be" for non of them race. Its no good, they keep on making embarrasing mistakes they do'nt learn from them, last year the bathwater ran lukewarm, only just tolerable but today its stone cold, time to get to the meetings and discharged these charlatans like a firework, one PUFF and there gone.If it was oh so easy? Its wednesday today and some of the elite will be reading their BHW at breakfast, I bet the top feature writer is missing again, time for change the Racing Pigeon always allowed freedom of the press thats why it shall regain its title it so rightly deserves Britains No1 Racing Pigeon Newspaper.

Roland this is the way of the world I am afraid. I did something very similar a few weeks back when the job stated that we were to be all given new shifts patterns etc. At first I was against them because of all the unnecessary upheaval and made my views known to my fellow workers. They were all of the same opinion. I then looked at it with my wife and we had actually got a better deal so I went back and told my fellow workers I was for it. The trouble was they were not and asked me to not agree to the new demands.

Well I decided at the big AGM with all the bosses present that I would grasp the opportunity to try out my debating skills with the top knobs. I did and made what I thought was a good case on behalf of my fellow workers. My case was not accepted and as I spoke I could tell I was the only sailing ship on a busy sea. I looked towards my fellow workers who had asked me to argue their case. Guess what NO EYE contact with them and me and you would have thougth that I had never met them before the way they disowned me ;D They never once spoke up and supported me in any way which made me look like a trouble maker. :o

I quickly closed my arguement and thought stuff you then. I asked them why they had not made their support known for the case that I was presenting on their behalf and each said this, "I could see that your case was not going down well" In other words you can sink on your own it has nothing to do with me! :B

 

I have to admit I enjoyed my arguement and did not upset the bosses and felt I had put it across elequantly, which was well balanced and evidenced, this I beleive helped my own standing in the office. As to the cowards who hid in the backgound when the chips were down, they have achieved nothing.

 

All I can say is People are the same world over, the difference is that they mainly just have a different package surounding their skeleton.

Yes been there. Formed a proper Union again to replace the one - same one lol - that was U.S. All ushered like.

Great improvements. Trouble was every one waited till Night shift to see me -I was permant Nights - which meant seein the Shift supervisor, and / or going in next day.

One Superviser said after I'd make an appointment. Don't but in, but watch when Mary comes with you to see me.- Was really just letting her and a mate that he  was boss like and had seperated them from working together, rediculous I know lol -Any way he started by pretending to be shocked, indeed hurt that they could go to the union about him.... and then utter dribble about - with some truth elements - of hadn't he done this that the other regularly helping etc. etc. and the repayment was getting him a black mark with the bosses. She appoligise , blame me and said good bye and went back to work. THEN TOLD ME A FEW REALITIES. We agreed that they would go back to their' former posts. Another when I rejected a 5% rise, was offered 4%...  We had a shilling an hour bonus for starting shifts on time (5%). They came back and offered to split the difference making it 41/2% if we'd meet them half way too, and scrap the shift bonus!  So in real terms were 1/2% worst off... they voted it in lol.

Michael, Roland, I don't always agree with what you both post but your posts above are as good as i've read! This has been going on for far too long, and is still going on today, in each and every organization! Rose, your sentiment summed it up beautifully! I will refrain from printing what has gone on here, too long winded, but totally the same story! Could tell you some stories that would make your hair curl, Payouts with no Payout, then be told that you had been paid, lol, unbeleivable stuff, and that isn't even scratching the surface! But, having been there, i bet you both could tell them too! Pigeon politics, WASTE OF TIME! You couldn't put this game right if there was a military coup!

 

Roland, to be honest, some of your past posts have just lost me off completely, but the above has made quite a few of them now understandable to me!

 

Whats that old adage that sums up Apathy perfectly? ............ Today's news is tomorrows fish n chip paper! Says it all really!

I assume this is a matter of going through grievance / disciplinary procedure. It may be ongoing in which case neither party would want to compromise the position. And if not on going then Karen woul be free to tell you, the fact that she hasn't (if it has been settled) suggests she is either happy with the outcome or been warned as to her future and will not be saying another word or hopefully not, been dismissed and is on the industrial tribunal path.

Was our guess speaker at Corby Dinner etc. Was doing a Fund - raiser or would have asked her. But never a mention even behind the hand so to speak. Has run it's course of course. Be a few months at least I'd reckon at earliest before oat is known.

Hope it has settled in the dust and a new start made...
