BIGPETE Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 My old Dad used to be mad about a strain of pigeons who had all the champs named "Quarry" something. Quarry King, Quarry Queen etc. I believe they were a variety of Janseens. Are these still about or have the dissapeared off the radar?

peter pandy Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 The "Quarry" pigeons were named so by the late Mike Winters when he resided in Boness. His first big winner scored well in Rennes back in the sixties and was named "The Quarry Man" followed by others which scored well.
BIGPETE Posted August 15, 2014 Author Report Posted August 15, 2014 Cheers for all the info guys. Gave me some nuggets to search out on Google and learn more. Seem like a fantastic batch of birds and some fantastic performances put in back in back in the day.
