THE FIFER Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 under rpra rule you dont have to be a member, but club must pay your rpra region fee. not into the rpra ones, but if someone is paying your fee you are a member of the region, what you have to be careful with is if you have a secretary who is employed if working so many hours they come under the employment laws and you cant just get rid of them,

hotrod Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 to be a member of a club ,im pretty sure the shu rules states that you must have a loft and birds ,unless its been changed in the last 4/5 years.

Pompey Mick Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 As a Secretary is basically a servant of the Club, I would have thought it best if he/she were non-flyers. They could then concentrate on the administration side of things. Any affiliation fee necessary would become part of their remuneration. The General Manager of the RPRA is a total non-pigeon fancier who just does as he is told and deals solely with the adminstrative side of the RPRA with no personal agenda or opinion on pigeon related topics at all.
JADE Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 SHU club rule 1 states "all members thereof must be members of the Scottish Homing Union". Club rule 3 states "Committee of management shall consist of a mininum of 5 members including President, Vice President and Secretary & Treasurer" herefore the secretary must be a SHU member. Cant speak for RPRA but I would think same would apply. They dont have to have pigeons though to be a member

WELSH WIZARD Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 There is no SHU RULE saying you have to be a member of a club or organisation and that is fact as i asked them.BUT i will state that it is not advisable as they have no power to suspend or help with any legal matters concerning none members.

The new General Manager MR.David Bills is actually a member of our club likewise Peter Bryant before him, this came about because of the RPRA Yearlings races, they had to become members so that the birds could be sent in the club.Sorry this is a bit of the original topic,
Guest Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 RPRA rules are clear all officers have to be organisation members with the exception of the Secretary who may or may not be
Pigeondoll Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 i was a secretary for a club, i was not a member of the club but i became affiliated to the RPRA and paid my fees.
