Had this done with a cat ,it was my wifes doo so nae to say there was upset it took the head of through the dowels and the bird fell back on floor spraying the dookit with blood ,terrible!!!

this could be a carrion crow, they take the heads off, its the only place a crow can hold a pigeon is by the neck, seen a few this way, i think a cat would have carried it away,

i think your right, i left it where it was killed and kept watch, a crow came and started dragging the remains around the garden!!

yes crows are a real problem around your lofts once they start, they kill not just to eat but just to kill, and are very intelligent, they chase hawks but dont keep them away,
