REDCHEQHEN Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Have 2 sensors - says '1 sensor OK' Swapped them about and both actually work - but for some reason the rings are not registering through the floor of the trap (they have done for the last 4 years - and no alterations have been made)So neither sensor is working in the trap - but they are working when not in the trap - suggestions? (can't take the trap apart....!) PS - Birds away at a race - and its the main roundabout loft that is the problem (hubby is on the transporter....!!)
walterboswell59 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 sounds like the cable between pad one and two id just have on the one thats working and if a bird from other section comes first catch it and put it on to pad one till your hubby finds out whats wrong
tiger Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 remove the screws from the back and spray with wd 40 inside
REDCHEQHEN Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Posted April 12, 2014 If I pass birds over the pads - they register (both sensors) despite the system saying '1 sensor OK' But one of the pads has to go under the trap (there is a shelf for pad to sit on) but the sensor pad is not picking up the rings any more through the wooden floor of the trap (it always has done in the past)
walterboswell59 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 forgot to ask you have the pads been out side all winter as i had a problem 2 years ago one pad not working it had been in the loft all winter brought it in the house and sat it on the radiator for a few hours and it worked now i bring the pads into the house when season is done must be dampness getting inside them worth a try redcheq
walterboswell59 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 another problem with unikon clocks is the amount of birds on the clock the more thats on it the longer it takes to scan looking for the ring so get the birds you have lost or not racing taken off and you will see the difference in speed as the birds go over the pad

Guest pigeongirl Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Does the wire bend in an unusual way. Had one club member in last club used to wrap lead around pad and he broke all the wires inside so now the pads only work when the wire is bent. Maybe yours is only working whilst the wire is straight another possibility to look at. Hope you manage to sort soon.

Guest pigeongirl Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 sorry worded a little wrong. I can guess you don't wrap it up (he was a bit of an idiot the man that done it. might of took better care if he had paid for the equipment but it was lottery funded) but was meaning when its in its shelf does the wire bend , maybe after so many years its weakened with the weather and wire has broken when moved
clockman Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 They are kept in the shed - but will bring them in the house just now and warm them through!! (I'll try anything!)Did it work,
REDCHEQHEN Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 Did it work, Short reply is no - had to go into the loft and catch the little blightersthen scan them losing lots of time - but wouldn't have been anywhere anyway as it happens
walterboswell59 Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 all can think of is the cable then redcheqhen let us know if you find out thanks
