Dannyashton Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 What's the best bird for speed and what's the best for stamina just looking to know a little about different breeds thanks in advance
walterboswell59 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 seen no one saying much on this danny its a hard one m8 theres no set rule fast pigeons and distance pigeons are man made by breeding fast pigeons to fast pigeons and long distance to long distance birds but some strains or families can do both this is why some sprint famlies can win a long race sometimes and distance birds can win short races how you train and treat your birds is much to do with it so better to choose horses for courses depending on what you want to win or a family that are all rounders hope this helps a bit m8

Guest bigda Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) HORSES FOR courses would be best judged for one, then there is race and weather condition, for the next, 1 then it is feeding, hard work needs hard feeding light work needs light feeding but both in the correct format. there birds that have a engine that will fly at the same speed all the time, velocity in a slow race 1100 and there fastest is 1300 but when its a day to suit it is they that win the race. head wind, tail wind, all can change your race so write it all down to see what is your best birds one the day weather wise and how it won a race before or how it was going to win the race Edited February 12, 2014 by bigda

No fast set answer to your question and it all depends on what you are looking for as regards to your own choice of racing and then shop about for the pigeons that are suited to your set-up. I would say that you can find a lot of info of all the top families in reading the weeklies and looking at the results especially into your area and locality
philg50 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 I am just getting going again and the guys that are answering you give sound advice ,read articles ask questions ,gleen information ,then make your mind up is it sprint, middle distance,or long distance ,i am covering all catagories and if i get a few half good birds out of my lot i will be over the moon, good luck to you in what ever you do.
