gulkie Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I have worked with poly carb a lot and by far the best way to cut it is with aJig saw u can get proper fixings just google poly carb fixings .hope this helps.
peter pandy Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Far be it to contradict the experts above however I have a little experience on cutting polycarbonate as well as plastic sheeting and from past encounters with both using a Jig saw or sharp wood saw I encountered problems with splintering. Seeking advice I was told to purchase a BAHCO LAMINATE SAW £12.00 on the internet and using it on polycarbonate amongst other materials it is a wonderful tool which leaves no ragged edges due to the formation of the teeth. For fitting I would use plastic cover washers for screwing down.Ex Handyman and Gardener to Lords and Ladies.
Guest RedWest Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 I cut mine with a fine toothed jigsaw. Cut as smooth as you like and no splintering whatsoever. I've used the jigsaw for both 4mm and 10mm polycarbonate twinwall.
Guest stb- Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 i cut it with and small angle grinder with a diamond blade clean as a whistle and and no rough edges . I fix them down with these then you get no leaks . http://www.randjbuildershardware.co.uk/roofing-screw-for-sheet-to-timber-6-3x32mm.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CObYnbrqm7sCFTMftAodyBYAPg
