JohnQuinn Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Dickins medal on the Antiques Roadshow tonight awarded in 1942 to a pigeon called Cologne valued at £10'000.0 I seen that Walter, looked like a pure Black in the picture. I didn't see the part where they valued the medal but as stated it would be Priceless if it belonged to my family.I am not certain of these numbers but i think of around 36 medals awarded to "animals" 28 or 29 were won by racing pigeons, some of them homing in treacherous conditions from hundreds of miles away, saving many servicemen from a horrid death.

ForestForever74 Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 These stories should be used in the preservation of our sport and the protection of our birds. I would like to see those who are trying to bring us down go against that in the national press. Its a win win for us.
