What's people opinion on a bird dropping two flights one wing and one flight in other wing all at once? Have a pigeon done it this week, would you send it to 225 mile LNRC race or leave it at home

What flights Wiley? Usually a bird throwing 2 flights at once is showing good form and unless its far out in the wing I wouldn't hesitate sending, with a couple of quid on too :emoticon-0127-lipssealed::emoticon-0167-beer:

The way I look at it is handicap versus motivation. If you feel the pigeon is motivated to race home in one way or the other I would send it, if unpaired just flying to the perch I'd leave it at home.

Had a Mealy hen about 2007 that cast 2 on each wing the week of our Inland Open race and all advice was send her and gamble her. I done both but she slept out and never made the result, so be careful and be Certain the bird is Fully motivated to Race! home. Atvb whatever you decide to do.

She's unpaired, in the last 3 weeks racing, she's had a 1st and 3rd club. She's later bred but she had 6 weeks on the dark, eyes are bright, wattle white, and neck shinning, and droppings small and tight.

Delboy its her first flights to drop.

was about to say there can also be other reasons for a bird throwing 2 together and holding them back is one as the bird trys to bolt the wing to catch up to where nature tells it it should be its not allways a sign of good form it can just be natures body clock telling the bird it needs to catch up so to speak so having the bird on darkness for 6 weeks would cause it to try and and bolt the wing to catch up imo seen widowhood birds do the same when paired after racing

True Walter but Wileys already said the bird is bouncing and won two prizes in last 2 races. :emoticon-0123-party:

oh i agree with you dell id send it and pool it im just saying it could be the 6 weeks on dark thats caused the bird to throw 2 m8

ps thats why ill neaver try darkness if the bird was not on darkness id be 100 percent sure it was form and birds that hold form for three weeks are few and far between imo

Could be as you say Walter, she's quiet young in comparison to other peoples young birds

every time ive tried to win with a bird for the 3rd time in a row i droped it wiley but good luck with it you know your birds better than anyone m8 the way i look at it now is can i afford to lose the bird if the anser is yes and the bird is right it goes

Best hen I ever owned 3 times Rennes on the shift beating 7500 each time into a nw wind best was 7th section 30th open flying 16 1/2 hours each time at basketing threw her 2nd and 3rd flights bought my first decent motor car with her winnings ,Young cock few years back done the same so sent him to the ybn 2nd section would have won if he did not land with the winner 25 mls to the south and chase it about the roof

For me two flights together get the cash on it Super Form

Guys

I had one here that was a late youngster, that was a replaced breeder buyer.

end of may weaned, still squeaking when I started to train.

I could not get him into the first races as he was too young and had not had enough training, so I jumped him in at 110 miles, 5 hours, next week up to 188 miles, very late week after 137 miles next morning last week the breeder buyer race was from Berwick 225 miles, a few days before he fell apart head and chest were very heavy in the moult, and he dropped his 4th flight.

I honestly think if he was not a breeder buyer bird he would have been left at home.

Sent him, he was 6th club and second breeder buyer netting us £100 each.

I think if it looks a good flying day you should send the hen.

Del was just checking this hen today, shes done exactly the same but dropped her last two flights on both wings. What's your thoughts? Would you say it's the make up of the bird?
