Overall birdage is 150 down on last year and 256 down fae 2011, could be a pattern forming here!! Getting harder every year tae get enough doos about ye tae have a go at the all the races so i canny see the trend changing any time soon. jmo.emoticon-0156-rain.gifemoticon-0156-rain.gif

Yes a disappointing entry except for Section C. My club (Forfar) has an entry of 80 pigeons plus another 6 non SNFC birds in the convoy. Hate to say it but I think Ypres is having a detrimental effect on the entry for this race.

A canny say i've had it that bad Rab, when it comes to scars ave only had 3 return with feathers out, all fae the same race, Newark but if i'm being honest with ma self i've only dropped a handful that i thought were gonna be up tae much. Started the season with a make shift team and they got found out when the going got tough.

Looking forward to the Yb's tae see if there is anything with promise showing itself. I know we should NEVER say it but i do have my eye on 5 or 6 that are doing all the right things, noted their numbers and i'll look back come September.

usually when i dont get my fancied and best birds in the first few home they turn in weeks latter way bits missing from them , i think my first uns get nailed most weeks , have others there that plod up the road and never get a hit so prob the coast is clear afore they reach the danger zones , the 4yr old cock i won wetherby with has been hit with percie every year since a yb and 2 yrs ago was hit at first race and landed in a garden in edinurgh with no tail and not a single secodery flight and couldnt fly , i sent him to come back witton castle that year and he came next day hit again . He was the only doo i never got from newbury but came 10 days latter in bits half tail half wing . he has won me 5 races up till now , but why does it happen to same bird so often ??

That's a question i often ask myself, same doos getting done year on year but escape with their lives tae get done again!! Had an 08 Blue Ck got hit every year from a YUb, and on his final outing last year before the Gold Cup, Down!!! Probably the best condition i ever had him in and he got done. Well that's my assumption.

A few Cleremont threads up, the race is off and there is a current thread with the same info, so will close this one to stop cross-posting.
