Guest karl adams Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 when i started up in 2007 i payed good money for some soojens that year i bread all soojens they looked nice but seemed to lack something in the brain (as i lost most off the loft) i put this down to them all being from the same family as when i looked at the pedigrees they all had the same background so i then got some van reets which i then crossed in to them but when i looked at the pedigrees they all so had some of the same blood as the soojens :-/ :-/ so i then had a few pair of bussharts gifted to me the pedigrees were completely different so i thought i will cross these in to them the young birds of these looked good and they have now got a good brain as for this year i have not lost any off the loft and these birds have been worked hard i lost 3 in training which 2 of them were reported to me 1 was dead(hit wires) the other had been hit by the peregrine (hes fine now) i also lost 1 in the first race it was reported in Cambridge it was a little red hen it had a bang of some sort and was picked up by a women that was training to be a vet she took it home but i could not get to pic it up strait away as it was a 3 hour drive away so i asked on here if some one could pic it up for me and some one did but they then told me they could bring the bird up to me when they bring horses up to race in Wolverhampton 3 weeks later i got the hen back she seemed ok i trained her for a week then she was sent to race in a gold ring race she never showed up :-/ :-/ not here any way she went back to a loft that she had never fled out of ;D ;D ;D back to Cambridge she never went out that loft she was took there bye car and kept in a box to get well so how did she get there may be she had a good brain :-/ :-/ she now lives there and i hope she dose well so now all my birds will be crossbreeds
