I would fix perches to the 2 x 2 as the birds droppings will land on the 2 x 2 and will be annoying when cleaning, jmo m8. The best of luck

Just one tip mate, place a vertical strip between each run of V perches otherwise a dominent cock will hope along each perch pushing the other off all the time and it may disturb the loft a wee bit.
