eastcoaster Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 My first round young birds that were weaned in march have not thrown any flights yet my 2nd round are on their 2nd&3rd flights > not on darkness and they are in exellent shape flying well.not worried in any way just not happened before.

Nothing to do with the weather imo.Your first round are on natural darkness, being bred so early and acting like latebreds,( not throwing flights but still renewing body feathers) your 2nd round are just like normal spring ybs, moulting as normal.

When we have poor weather for a few consecutive days the doors are shut, the temp inside goes up and we notice quite a diffo in body feather and flights! Thats what I mean by weather Del. Me and the old boy were just discussing this very thing tonight! spooky lol obviously the wooden doors cut the light aswell

Me and the old boy were just discussing this very thing tonight! spooky lol obviously the wooden doors cut the light aswellThat is in line with my thinking as with all the crap weather and my loft roof sloping to the front and no gutter the splashes wet the floor when wire door is in place so most of the day i have the solid door shut ! but they have access to a small avery at all times.thanks for reply`s
