Scotland World Champions ... Again

You know I think it is great to see any British team win and become world champs at ANY sport. Now SCOTLAND are world champs. Now Equally disappointing they don't even get a cheer on here or even back home I fear.

I so very often see the stupid spouting 'They are Scottish unless they win ... then they become British' etc. That certainly isn't, and hasn't been the case here!

Seems in truth and real terms if they don't become British they don't get the honour that they deserve nor any merit by the home crowd.

Is football now the be all and end all in Scotland? ... Are the Scots whimpering because of disappointing Rugby team of late, not to notice or give good cheer when deserved?

I can / could quite easily fill pages of great individual Scots from nigh any sport.

I think too many make a past time or calling and trying to denounce the English to be proud of what some do!

Any way well done gals.

Also I thought the ladies Cricket team and Rugby teams did well too

Scotland have been crowned women's world curling champions after beating Sweden 6-5 in Riga.

 

All the girls have played unbelievably and to come out as world champions feels great!

Sweden, who had beaten Scotland twice earlier in the tournament, went into a 2-0 lead after two ends but never led again after the Scots turned it round to 3-2 after four ends.

Yes it maybe classed as a G.B. Team ... but ALL the bonney lases were Scottish.... They also won the Winter Olympics in 2010 etc. and have excell for 15 years now.

We English saw and cheered when shown on T.V. Pleased when it was in the news etc. etc.

no they just dont get any publicity about it Harry its never mentioned anywhere and the genenral public know nothing off it so as Roland said no wonder there is no mention off it :emoticon-0167-beer:

I don't think the Scots can blame the english for that S.B.... Scotland has it's own media and T.V. News papers etc. ... Besides it was pretty well covered - as Scotland granted - both by the press and the T. V networks here.

a funny thing Roland my uncle or brothers in ireland will say such and such a team did well or some other sports men did well but they get coverage in ireland but we dont get it here . Must admit i dont buy news papers but do watch the main bbc news and admitedly it dosent always cover irish or scottish events much :emoticon-0167-beer:i just done an msn search on womens curling champions and this is the only result it posted

Stacks came up for me first search Rab. However though ALL the lasses were / are Scottish they did represent Great Britain!. Which again I believe shows that is you are good enough for the job, regardless where you are from, the GB select you. I believe most reserves too were also Scots.

 

But would like to say it spts in the face of predudice when too many say - without thinking - Scottish unless they win, then British.

these lasses represent Britain ... but ALL the headlines speak / spout Scottish whereas it should really be Great Britain! I personally don't mind that as they were, are.
