Rebus Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 does anyone know anything about stoats?saw one in the garden last week and the missus says she seen it crawling under the pigeon loft.do they eat grain?are they vermin?do you think they can chew into the loft?Caught one behind my loft couple months ago,lay a 2" pipe about 2 feet long against the back of the loft leading to a fen or gin trap baited with a piece of raw meat or bacon just behind the trap,remember to block the end after the trap so it is forced to go through the pipe,remember to cover the trap so no domestic animals can get to it.

Hi Geordie you'll need to deal with it sharpish anyone of the two in the photo Stoat or weasel(smaller one) will wipe you out and if it has been seen more than once then it has taken up residence very near you the weasel has no black tip too its tail and can pass through 1"x1" mesh with ease so will get out of a squirrel trap which are sometimes made with 1"x1" mesh both are good climbers and would be up on your loft in no time hope yae get the f@cker
