just been watching Calendar, There was a pigeon flyer who has been catching wild birds and selling them, He pigeons lofts was in a right mess muck wise, He was from Derbyshire, His names was Yates.

He was a 'good pigeon flyer' With the mess in the hut it didn't look like he had a clue :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Man jailed for selling wild birds

 

A man from North Derbyshire who illegally caught and sold wild birds has been jailed for eighteen weeks. Russell Yates, 41 years old, of Peveril Road, Tibshelf, admitted a string of offences when he appeared for sentence at Chesterfield Magistrates Court.

Unfortunately for us the Public will remember incidents like this. This is why I have advocated being tough on those who flout the rules and bring the Sport into Disrepute. If I had my way I would come down hard on those people who refuse to repatriate their strays espcially if there is a Member of the Public involved. It is much the same with the awful looking dirty old sheds that are sometimes used for pigeons. If people want to be part of our Sport I think we should have the right to demand standards that stops some of the eyesores that are dotted about the place. If we are going to have the help of the Public with our dire situation regarding the RSPB and the BOP we must address matters like this. If we fail to do this we are running the risk of all being tarred with the same brush.

I have just seen it on ITV PLUS 1 disgusting how he kept them

to be honest there isn't allot about pigeons they just show a quick flash of the nest boxes and then say there droppings where found to be six inches deep in some area's .

hopefully his neighbours will report him if he keeps birds again, now its been on tv
