20 widowhood cocks. I like to keep things simple and easy. A few years back we played with hens, but it's to much hard graft as well as racing cocks

Im thinking of trying it next year as I think hens are wasted just being used as widow hens plus if I want to fly 30 old birds it would mean keeping 60 if flying widowhood

As some have said, it is a lot of work, but hens set up right can compete with cocks on the roundabout system, but it is a full time job.

I race 24 w/h cocks. The only downside to w/hood IMO is they dont cope with cold weather as well as hens. W/h cocks come into their own when they've got the sun on their backs.

If I thought I had say about 18 cocks that can do the job i would fly wodowhood but i need to find out whats what this year so need to work on a kinda roundabout system for the first 4-6 races
