Guest lambrechts31 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 IF A BET IS LAID ON A NORMAL SLIP COUNTER STAFF HAVENT THE TIME TO CHECK EVERY SLIP, FIRST GOALSCORERS FROM SMALLER TEAMS MUST BE CHECKED FIRST, SO ALWAYS ASK AT THE COUNTER TO AVOID DISAPPIONTMENT, THATS WHY THEY HAVE THESE SPECIAL FOOTBALL COUPONS, SO THINK YOU ONTO PLUMS M8, DONT THINK ITS ANYBODIES FAULT JMO AS A LONG SUFFERING GAMBLER.......

I understand what your saying m8 but the bookie shouldnt have taken the bets. There were 3 individual bets from my family alone, how many more were put on in similar circumstances? Cheers
alec guinness Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I put a fiver treble on 3 footballers to score today and weirdly enough my two sons had put on a similar bet and we all had chosen the same player, Nicholas Clark to score for Queen of the South. All 3 lines came up and when we went to collect, the bookies said they would only pay doubles as they couldnt get a price for Nicholas Clark .expletive remove, I said, if Clark hadnt scored we wouldve thrown our lines in the bin, thinking we had lost although there was doubles up.I got the bookie to admit he wouldve kept the money if that had happened.I refused to believe that they couldnt get a price for a player scoring as there are 180 different bets you can make in one game of football.I put a complaint into the Regional Manager.Whats your thoughts?? find that hard to believe as the lad has scored 24 goals and is scottish footballs leading scorer, son of former west ham and rangers player sandy clark, del you can get kris doolan for the jags next week .i hope you get your line up del. :)

CheersAs lambrecht has posted, i also believe your on to plums. You cant blame the bookie for not checking your slip, and because it was a minor football game then Hills cant cover every player from every league, its a bit like you going to hills to place on a betting slip that i am going to come first in a pigeon show that you are also entering. End result is your bet being returned. The bookie must have thought it was a scam whenever 3 members from the one family but the same guy to score first even though they were not offering odds for that game.

JohnQuinn Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I know for a fact your onto plums Derek, its actually Your responsibility to make sure your bet is in order and no the staff's problem. I mean can ye imagine a wee lassie on her first shift ok'ing a bet that the bookie would lose Millions on but would have to pay because the new staff never noticed a mistake?? Big Rab's (wings04) brother placed a double not so long ago and the 2 horses duly obliged, however when he went to cash in they refused because his bet was placed JUST after the off of his first horse race, so he only got paid out a single. To rub it in, he deliberately put another LOSER after the off then tried to claim his stake back because the bet was late, what happened?? you got it he was onto plums and NO STAKE money was returned to him either cos it was HIS mistake!!!! He has went to an ombudsman about it but as yet i don't know how it has unfolded or if it has been settled yet cos as i say it was only a short time ago.
fletch Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 just phoned my brother he used to run a bookies shophe said if they took the bet there should of been a price for the playerhe said in some of the lower league games they dont have some markets ie first goal scorer and corners and stuff like thatpossibly they may not have a market as that case they done the right thing but they did take the bet so should pay the double out and return the singlebut worth complaining as the reginal manager may pay you something out as compensation for the mix up
Delboy Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 derek was the team the player scored for on the football coupon mate Aye Jamie, Queen of the south v Arbroath
