Delboy Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Heard it was a brilliant night, sorry I couldnt make it.ATB to Joe Murphy for his contribution to the pigeon sport in Scotland.I wish he would reconsider continuing the Challenge as it is a great competition.I was lucky enough to be involved in it twice.
lanarkshire lad Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Great idea when it was first started but i think it should have stayed at one entry for me it lost something when he let you have a reserve jmo.

alec guinness Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 had a smashing night at the very last sporting challenge which is a shame, met a lot of old friends and made some new ones,i think the SHU are going to continue with the fancier of the year though!!!!!!
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Its a shame to hear Joe's Sporting Challenge has run its course.I certainly enjoyed the reading and as many have stated it highlighted a lot of the top birds we have in the country. This is just a thought-does anyone think it would be worthwhile trying to organise a SNFC single bird challenge? Basically borrow the format used in Ireland Open it up to all lofts flying into Scotland. Nominate one bird by the middle of March Highest placed nominated pigeon in the SNFC Gold Cup race is the winner. The Irish one has really gained momentum. The first time 20 lofts were selected as a trial run,it worked out that the 1st and 2nd Kings Cup that year were actually nominated in the challenge. Since then it has grown year on year and this season nearly 500 lofts nominated a pigeon
