sapper756 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 What are your childhood memories of being a child on Christmas eve? As a child along with my 3 sisters we use to line up. and one at a time, shout up the lum(chimney) and let santa know what we wanted for Xmas. Then on Christmas morning, after a LONG sleepless night, we would creep down the stairs and open the livingroom door, the thing that sticks with me, is the smell of our apples and oranges, always placed alongside our presents. I still love Xmas now, as much as I did then Theres still the big kid inside us all Remember one year getting a "Johnny 7" it was a big machine gun that fired bullets, grenades and rockets
ChrisMaidment08 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 mine was i wanted a suitecase from man from uncle with walkitalki and gun and all secret stuff in it. went to sleep woke up there it was so i was so happy i started playing with it then had hideing for opening my younger brothers presents?? sad but i love watching my kids with there stuff thats christmas its for kids
retired Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Mine was wanting the presents Im not really into Christmas at all now, i just think of it as a nuisance (no Shops open, Queens spech etc) and an expense, with the kids now i have to put the effort in but up till last year the last 6-7 have all been sleeping off the effects of the night before lol
Tony C Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 My sweetest memories of Christmas are of my own kids, bursting into our bedroom asking 'has he been yet' then going down stairs with them to see if he had indeed been lol the excitement on their faces and the innocence of it all, something I’ll treasure till the day I die. Priceless.
Roland Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 When ask if we could have such and such for Christmas, we use to be told 'Be a Good Boy wait and see what Father Xmas will bring you', No matter how nuch of good boys we were, Father Christmas proved every year what a poor judge of charactor he was, and how he had favouratives.... we had the shoes, scarf or jumper so badly needed for school, with the pencil box etc. and the rottoness, worst bad boys on the street got the bikes and real goodies! Was always wait for birthday or Xmas and then foobed of... Guess what, them bad um had different goodies all year round. :Xmas Bah Humbug lol

PIGEONJIMI Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 My memory of Xmas eve past involved me & my brother putting a cricket bat over the bedroom door and a trip wire across the bottom in order to catch 'Santa' Imagine our surprise on finding an unconscious mam surrounded by presents when we were woken by the noise...
