Hi guys, just a wee note to introduce myself.I am a complete beginner and have loads of questions/ queries that will no doubt filter through in the coming weeks. Is there anyone based in East Lothian/mid lothian that is willing to be my mentor? Helpmewith setting up my loft, buying birds, advice on the basics of pigeon husbandry, training etc. I am not wanting to race my pigeons just keep them. Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks

if you've no pigeon background..getting to your first race can seem daunting to some...it did me, so just training is a start, get confidence and then have ago if you want to. welcome to the forum& pigeons babybird and enjoy getting started :)

Welcome to the site. You will be able to learn an awful lot. Of course we do not always agree about things but you will be both entertained and informed I am sure.

Best of luck

welcome to pigeon basics . if i can help in any way you only need to ask. i know a little when i am stuck and need expert advice i ask jimmy the encyclopedia white. as he is one of the most intellectual persons that i have come across regarding pigeons.

Welcome and happy flying when you get the birds.

one wee question, what happens when u want to go away for the weekend? do you have to get someone in to care for the birds/ exercise them or is there a way you can set things up that they cope without you for a night? This is a real consideration as I will be having to attend several sporting events that include an overnight stay

if it just overnight just make sure that birds have WATER and a double ration of food. birds can stay in some guys keep birds in all winter
