Pompey Mick Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 On Unikon Champ to re-assign a new ETS ring to an already assigned ring does not require the use of the laptop, it is all done via the Club Marker which can be done during marking. You can come out of marking go to assignment, type in the Ring No. (last 4 digits) then delete the defective ring using the red button, reassign a new ETS ring and then return to marking. Roland Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 At marking stations the Ring is given a unknown security code / number. There is no way of finding this out etc. Was a time - if two were at it together, that a ring taken of another bird could be held in hand and that one registered whilst the birds weren't. But it could be seldom done now as the clocks pick up so very easy, and club members / markers changed and fanciers names randomly called. Might get away with it once at club level, but nowhere else. Was once a case where a garage door remote took a minute of on up pressing and added on down pressing .... 20 odd years ago - if true. 17 years ago it was well advertised as being a myth by the ET companies.... Well they would say that etc. is heard. Maybe so. But would have certainly been fixed so as not to happen today. It is certainly far easier, if one is of mind, to cheat with Manual clocks than it ever will be with ET's.
airdrie2 Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Not going in to a long winded explanation but you CAN ASSIGN A RING during race marking so the bird can compete in the racetotall 100% agree have done it
