Guest bigda Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 looks like we have rode our luck, and the time has come for the members to decide if the money we have in the bank, is going to the making of 2 new transporters.i would suggest fanciers interested in new transport, come along to the agm and state a case at the agms any other business window, and if needed to have the moneys taken out of gold or any such account immediately this will not stop the go ahead should we come to the final conclusion, no matter what others might try and say. only notice is needed to be given. There loads of fabricators looking for work, and it could be to our advantage to play them of with who ever, is prepared to do the deals
Guest bigda Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 HAVE GOT QU0TE,TO GET 2 LIFT OF BODY type it is going to cost with drinkers each side extractor fans, water integration, £35,000 the body of the first one can have 2,500 birds, there can be a second made with sleeping quarters that can accommodate 1,800 birds if we charge out the baskets at £14 per basket x 154 crates= £2,156 per race truck rental £per week £400 including millage, drivers wage for the week £250x£250 second driver. fuel average week of any race £600 and that is generous giving a total cost each week of 2,156 - 1,500= leaves £656 profit x 18 races gives us £11,808 per annual profit with in 3 year pus an odd sale this first unit would be bought and paid for. with all the money going to the fed as stated we should be able to have loads bigger prize races. hope you find this informative, as what can be achieved.
JohnQuinn Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Hi Danny, you are not alone in thinking we should get new transporters, however your quote only covers 4,300 birds. We have more than that for more than half the races in the Fed, question is how do we accommodate members when there are 6,000+ birds.
Guest bigda Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Hi Danny, you are not alone in thinking we should get new transporters, however your quote only covers 4,300 birds. We have more than that for more than half the races in the Fed, question is how do we accommodate members when there are 6,000+ birds. yes i know we have more birds than transport, at times but if it was allowed to take transit van on the busy days or newmains transporter we could draw lots as to who's turn or club that got in it, as it would not be any good getting the 3rd truck out but if fanciers could give the sectaries the amount of birds they intend to send maybe they could set a limit per club till the birds get thin-ed out having 6,000 birds would give us more profit but at £600 i think we keep a steady ship, and when the birdage gets lower we take others with us again on a amount quota.
jonl6280 Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Newmains training van won't last forever , why not hire a 7/5 tonner
Guest bigda Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 may be after the second or third year we go for the third transporter lift of type and we could then use it later to ferry a fed for the same profit of £600 a race and if the unit is well made it will be rust free and it should be able to with stand the elements if out side would go for the 3rd tuck and hire if we could take other feds as i say 2 years after we got up and runing
Guest bigda Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Does the price include the panniers yes they are about 300 each
Guest bigda Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Newmains training van won't last forever , why not hire a 7/5 tonner no but long enough i hope, so we get the third lift of unit. the money from the extra birdage would be say 1,700 doos at 50p would be £850 per race that would all go towards the owner, and it would not affect our profit hopfully of £650 a week i think this would help the newmain club and help our fed only a sugestion with hired trucks we have noover heads.
bibendium Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Dont know if its any use to you guys but there is a decent transporter kicking around Ayrshire (The old Ballochmyle Fed one) maybe Kenny Young could point you in the right direction.

peter2010 Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 nowadays u would only have a big birdage for the first 4 races so why could the fed not put a limit on the birdage i know that doesnt help everyone also for example if they went down the west they could have 3 applebys fir the first 3 races
Guest bigda Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 nowadays u would only have a big birdage for the first 4 races so why could the fed not put a limit on the birdage i know that doesnt help everyone also for example if they went down the west they could have 3 applebys fir the first 3 racespeter only need to put 20p extra on a bird and they will no send many they are only looking for excuses tried telling them the way to go but they are not interestedin new transporters, they say they are, but they don't like the idea.and are sh** scared to mention it to the old management, not sure if the new have better ideas.
peter2010 Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 some folk think its a business that getting run they forget its a big club and our hobby so why not just get what money theyve got spent on the best and the welfare of the birds will b better may help with loses also if the transporters were any good you could look to even hire to snfc or is the money tied up in some secret bond ????????
Guest bigda Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 as far as i know it should be free this year as it was tied up 3 years prior to, that should not mater if the members say get it out, its the decision that is the hard part in the fedgetting the members to take a vote first of getting the money untied then getting quotes in and designs of transporters to me if we have the money it should go on the birds we are not meant to be a profit making organisation but i do believe we have to have 15k left in the account to tie up loose ends should any thing happen to the fed any thing over that would have to be spent or fed dues reduced
peter2010 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 i agree its not a mooney making organisation so can someone care to explain why the feds money has been tied up in a bond ???? and how the members have had some benifit cause costs havent came down i smell a rat !
Guest bigda Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 yes i would hate to think there was a rat also peter, but the excuses will run out this year that could put the tin hat on it. we have lost a Haulage company and there ain't many out there willing to camp, out three days as they used too.
