Walter swanston Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 The Solway Federation has been approached to take around 20 crates (500 pigeons) of Lanarkshire birds with us to Stafford on 8th. September.I immediately agreed to this with the proviso that a separate liberatiom might be preferable if possible.I believe that the future of pigeon racing is in the co-operation between organisations.
frank-123 Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Great news Walter thanks to the solway boys another wee race for me before the yb national
yeboah Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 With the losses the solway have occurred the last 2 weeks i think it would be suicide with such a small convoy to have separate liberations our birds are all heading in the one direction and if they cant sort themselves out by now what chance have they got when they get carted up the east coast from Leicester 100% for Lanarkshire Walter but 100% against a separate lib jmo .ps we liberate the stranraer old birds with ours and they are heading 100 plus miles west of the solway ?

Michael I agreed to do it this way because I was told our own fanciers would object in case their birds were dragged up into Lanarkshire.
Delboy Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Sounds good, hope the Lanarkshire boys all go to get the numbers up.
yeboah Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Michael I agreed to do it this way because I was told our own fanciers would object in case their birds were dragged up into Lanarkshire.Would hate to think my birds were so stupid at this stage of the season as to bypass moffat ,surely walter this should be a decision for the management committee if it is a seperate lib my birds won,t be on the transporter. What state would either federations pigeons be in if another 500 get liberated and they are stuck in the baskets .Nothing personal we both no that .
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Nothing is finalised yet, so perhaps this subject is best left alone for a day or two.
airdrie2 Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 dont know anything about this being on lanarkshire fed programe whos arranging it walter

Walter swanston Posted August 29, 2012 Author Report Posted August 29, 2012 Thank you for your comment Scott, sometimes decisions are requested of me which do not permit of a meeting on account of the time scale and the rapidly changing circumstances and I always think its better to do something than do nothing.I always take advice on these matters and my biggest mistake would appear to publicising it on a pigeon website,A mistake I will not make again it has brought me nothing but aggravation.
