WulDon Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 guys with big teams must find it really hard to spot a stranger in there loft imo the guy may have stuck it in as a trainer to get it home ye will never know none the less it has still went in someone elses loft i personally wouldn't find it hard to spot a stranger, plus if so it should have been picked up on when either an ets ring was assigned or on the first night of race marking if still on rubbers!
geordie1234 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 i personally wouldn't find it hard to spot a stranger, plus if so it should have been picked up on when either an ets ring was assigned or on the first night of race marking if still on rubbers!Lucky you I know if I had 100 odd ybs I wouldnt spot an extra yb in with them but on basketting I would
DJWa Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 hi i lost a few ybs to a percy attack about a month ago 1 comes back today su-l-12-910 with rubber on someone has been racing it as ive not raced a yb this year as my ybs took ybs they are fine now you wonder were your birds get to when none are reported or put in the stray basket and you find out some cnt is racing your bird its a fckn joke so it is its possable your y/b ended up many miles from homeand the finder put on a rubber and got it released close to homethe rubber was to tell you it had been in somewherewhich is common that or removing a rubber / clip ring this may have been somebody doing you a good turn and not somebody raceing your bird
bigjamie Posted August 20, 2012 Author Report Posted August 20, 2012 geo when you write a pool sheet out you should know the bird does not belong to you it should have been put in the stray basket instead of some smart cnt racing it when the bird hit the loft i said tomyself thats my yb i can tell my birds no bother mate at least its had a race or 2
geordie1234 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 geo when you write a pool sheet out you should know the bird does not belong to you it should have been put in the stray basket instead of some smart cnt racing it when the bird hit the loft i said tomyself thats my yb i can tell my birds no bother mate at least its had a race or 2Jamie I was not talking about you I was talking about the people with big teams that possibly your young bird has decided to venture into there loft and correct when writing a pool sheet it should have been spotted but I honestly don't think someone would race a yb knowing its not theres either they didn't know or they were trying to get it home imho
KMCK Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 happens every where now people race your birds we had it last year had one that we lost on second toss came back about 6 weeks after with race rubber on it had it in for the winter then its away again first trainer this year it is a waste of a pigeon, it nothing to do with big teams or not as if your filling out a sheet or reg an ets you have to have the ring number decent fanciers wont get it home if it goes back for a 2nd time they transfer it
geordie1234 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 For the life of me I cannot understand why someone would want to race a stray I personally can't get them out my loft quick enough using the correct channels ofcoarse
bibendium Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 For the life of me I cannot understand why someone would want to race a stray I personally can't get them out my loft quick enough using the correct channels ofcoarse Some very good pigeons over the years have been strays entering other lofts. they are not all rubbish.just some lost ,stressed and mixed up wee doo,s.
geordie1234 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 100% agree mate but I still don't want anyone's strags in my loft or to race for that matter, I report them then its up to the owners what to do with them.

All good fanciers do the same make sure they get them back to the fancier asap but the problem is where there is good fanciers there is idiots that keep other peoples pigeon with out consent out there
REDROCKET Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 What would be the point in racing someone else's bird surely if you win with it and are asked for proof of ownership or your club result is published for all to see that's you caught doesn't make sense to me .
bibendium Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 100% agree mate but I still don't want anyone's strags in my loft or to race for that matter, I report them then its up to the owners what to do with them. Likewise I would always endevour to get them returned to their owner , same if I get 1 reported I would always go or send for it , not that I get many reported.
geordie1234 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Not had many myself reported make's ye wonder
scottym7 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 I have lost around 50 and all had telephone rings on them and i can count on both hands how many have been reported, I have had more back in the stray basket since started racing and they have had the ets rings removed Scotty M
