Disinfect Water 1/2-3/4 tsp gallon

this keeps yb sickness away.i had yb sickness once years ago,was told to use vanodine18 once twice per week,never had yb sickness again.doseage just tip the very end of teaspoon into the v18 stir into 2litre drinker until water goes a very very pale brown

yb sickness = ADENOVIRUS, cannot be prevented m8.Its a virus not a bacterial infection.Vanodine18 can help the crop stay healthy and aids the birds during the sickness but cannot stop them getting YBS.

really ??? i never knew that mate.i used it n never had yb sickness again must have just been coinsedence as you seem to know more about it than me.

I get YBS every year and ive tried everything to prevent it with no joy. I hear a few other fanciers say they never get it well that really baffles me to say the least, infact i dont buy it. How often are you using vanodine 18 mate ?? and by the way some fanciers widna know ybs if it jumped out there soup. I was reading somewhere that the virus which causes ybs (ADENOVIRUS)is spread through droppings and saliva and is also Airborne.

Commercialism, products say this stops YBS, that stops YBS, its all nonsense.These products may help the pigeon feel better but dont and cant cure it.Its just the same as a human catching a cold, you can buy things to relieve the symptoms but you cant stop the virus itself.

 

ps.By the way, everyone gets YBS but sometimes to such a small degree it is unnoticed.

why give them disenfectant to get iodine when iodine can be bought and does the same thing :001:

I think it worth remembering that the use/overuse of disinfectant has exactly the same effect as the use/overuse of antibiotics in that it creates 'superbugs' organisms that are resistant to it.

i was just talking about this yb sickness to a top flyer yesterday n he recons its over feeding that causes yb sickness.i had it once rota boost 2000 (now called 5000) fixed the problem,was told to use v18 once a week,never had it again after that,was the use of v18 the reason y i never got yb sickness again ???? im not sure but ill continue to use it.i use 3pint dinker i get a teaspon and dip the very end of it into v18 then stir in drinker,you will see water starting to bubble and water goes a very off colour.tiny bit thats all ya need

well to be honest mate im no expert on yb sickness,i was told to use v18 through out yb season and to be fair ive never had it again.thanks for the imput though delboy ya obviously know ya stuff n more clued up than me on yb sickness,been interesting reading ya replies.cheers mate

Its been a long time since I used it, but I do remember that there were different strengths depending on usage. The one I remember is the weakest, 1 part vandodine to 1500 parts water for use as a general disinfectant. That's 1ml to 1.5 litres. Bottle has a long shelf life and mine lasted 6 years, not bad for £6.
