knoxjn Posted June 23, 2012 Report Posted June 23, 2012 come on guys give your convoyers some credit bad races are nowt to do ith the way they come out the motor unbelieveable
ALF Posted June 23, 2012 Report Posted June 23, 2012 Alan if they face the front into the wind and rain the sides will get very little , it should never be positioned where one side is getting hammered with rain and the otherside is dry I agree with what you are saying Rab but our transporter are crap no covers etc so even if they drove doon early this morning the rain at 4am here was torrential i was up because it was raining that hard the noise woke me up so 1 side of the transporter would have been droont before they even got to Longtown :emoticon-0156-rain:
Guest stb- Posted June 23, 2012 Report Posted June 23, 2012 this could be one of the resons for doos not getting a good start to a racei asked our convoyer that in the 70s about the rain and it was him that told me they park facing the rain so the sides get very little wind or water , also to park into wind at lib as he has seen the birds eing libbed into the wind on one side lifing and heading straight home and the birds with the wind on there backs ending up miles down the road before they turned and faced it so yes it could make a massive difference , parking facing wind means all birds libbed go in the same direction , food for thought but i thought that was common practice , was watching the N I P A lib at clonmell someone put on here and the birds facing the camera were miles away up the road before the ones at opposite side were just gaining height if you can find the video on here its 3 or 4 mins from the first to the last batches going , thats a big start in a short race

Guest KING BILLY Posted June 24, 2012 Report Posted June 24, 2012 verey concernd now about the wellfair of the doos nowing the fed they would not pay digs for a over night stay at 69mls so the doos may have been moved back home last night so this will be the 4th time the birds would have been soaked you wouldent toss a doo just out the bath would y
Delboy Posted June 24, 2012 Report Posted June 24, 2012 Why not buy 2 x second hand Geraldys and stop this amateur pi sh.If they last 10 years then I reckon thats the time the sport has left so why not give the doos the best for the remainder of it.The biggest fed in Scotland should have the best and ye have the money for it in the bank. You could also hire them out to the SNFC, making a few quid back.
