Hi all i have a race from falaise this weekend and weather is sunny with very strong east winds aross the channel. What are your opinions on this, Would you send, is an east wind better than a north east wind as it wont be so cold. Im in 2 minds weather to send, i have prepared the birds for a hard race. i will be interested in hearing your comments. Mass

will be our 6th race of the programme this weekend ,and 5 from 6 forecasts have been East or North East winds , some strong gusts too ,if any good they will come, all are in the "same boat" so to speak ,and somebody will win .if you are in doubt leave them out ,decision can only be made by yourself. good luck.

We are racing from Carentan this week must admit the weather as NEVER stopped me from sending,I will look through the birds tomorrow night before basketing and select what I think are in the best condition, wind rain or the talk of anything else makes no diferance.

Thanks for replys guys. The 2 cocks that i intend to send have both won and got cards at low velocities from france. my only concern is the strong east wind that could reach 35mph. The east wind will help as we are the most western part of the combine. Im just concerned about the strenght of the wind. Will the birds be able to fly through it. Mass

ive noticed the predicted wind strengths over the last few weeks , never really got up to the maximum predicted. the 2 cocks sound like a good choice , what wind and time of year did they score from France before ??

Hi Andy 1 of the cocks who is a 3 year old scored 2 weeks ago winning the club by 25 minutes and he was 21st fed and in the top 40 of the combine from carentan. And 2 weeks before that he won a 130 mile race He has had 6 channel races he has won 2, twice second and a 4th. He seems to hit form in june after he drops his first flight which he has not done yet. The other cock is his dad a 6 year old who has many cards from over the channel, They are both sitting eggs about 10 days and look fantastic. To be honest both cocks seem to be better in north west wind, but when the 3 year old won carentan it was a strong east wind in the channel, turning to a west when they hit inland.

Going by xc weather .Yes the wind has to be very strong on the channel which will not make for an easy race also states a lot of mist and fog about which will be a greater factor.
