Guest ghenty Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 So.....I was all set up to get the timber delivered for my Red Rose Starter loft and had it all planned out and then I seen this at B&Q with an extra 20% off as well! New loft! I have limited space due to being in a terrace garden so I am going to take the panel off that is next to the shelter and move it to the back of the shelter, giving me basically a 6'x6' internal area. I am then going to put a 6'x4' aviary on the end opposite the door. Then a couple of cat flap style traps that DOVEScot has got on You Tube in the space where the window nshould be. Obviously will add some vents in and need to get soem form of light into the loft, possibly through the roof, but the basics are there already! Have a few cats in the area so the cat flaps are a necessity as I want to fly them on open hole. Let's see how it goes!
Guest ghenty Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 I'm all ready to get going on the loft now and have thought about installing cat spikes to keep them away from the loft. Anybody had any experience of these or would carpet gripper rods be better to use?

Guest ghenty Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Yeah I have a few around although not as bad as when there was a cat next door, just want to stop them getting on the loft roof really. I have noticed that Pat O'Sullivan installs anti cat flaps on his loft as well so going to try and email him as well to see how he does it but the ones on YouTube look pretty easy to install. Shall get the timber and nails in as soon as the loft is up!
Guest ghenty Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Whoopee! First youngsters went in today. 5 babies altogether have gone in and got most of the aviary built today. Well so they will be able to venture outside very shortly. Then gunna get the trap built and have a another cage to cover the trap to teach the younguns the way back into he loft. Hoping to get it all set up for the weekend so they can start learning! Fun starts here.....

Guest ghenty Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 Does anybody know of any manufacturer who produces anti-cat traps at all? I cannot understand why more people do not manufacture them!
