I prefer an oil based one, when you say no mess on the birds, there shouldn't be, if there is an oil patch it has leaked and needs to be done again, with water based ones this can happen and you don't know

been jagging doos since we have had to do this :emoticon-0127-lipssealed::emoticon-0127-lipssealed: jagged lots of club members doos and some show boys doos. the only time there was a problem was when oil based vac was used.....both times the young bird was dead in the morning after the jag with oil based vac...one of ours and one of the show doos, which never get out of the loft...JMO

I think this is just down to numbers whatever vaccine you use, just hit a bad spot, have had it with the odd sheep, even worming down the throat have lost the odd one

you are probably correct....but when you use something twice and you loose 2 doos .....when you have lost none...when using same stuff for years... then i can only blame the vaccine

I prefer nobi vac. Always used colombovac but birds still took mild para. Spoke to Rod Adams who told me to use nobi vac as recommended by Wim Peters. NO problems since.

I used colombovac for years and i must have jagged thousands over the years but lately ive changed to nobilis nobivac and find it excellent. The reason i changed was the ybs seemed to be getting sore necks with the colombovac after being jagged.
