JohnQuinn Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 All week i told everyone and their granny to bet Sunnyhillboy then like a tube changed my mind at the last minute and bet Treacle each way Was a great race though but tainted by the horses who had to be destroyed, particularly the Gold Cup winner Synchronised.
boxer Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 i had the winner but only £1 e/w better than a kick up the ass i suppose
Michael J Burden Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Another two horses killed, having horses most of my life I'm not a fan of the national, It's outdated and barbaric, time to call it a day Do you race pigeons? This is as cruel as pigeon racing, dog racing but I do it because I like to see them do well. OMO MJB
billt Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Do you race pigeons? This is as cruel as pigeon racing, dog racing but I do it because I like to see them do well. OMO MJB I'm not anti horse racing, I was being specific about the National, I think it is loaded in favour of the punters and not the welfare of the horses, I can't say there are too many dogs killed on the race track, I'm not anti pigeon racing but my wife has always thought there was an element of cruelty about it
Michael J Burden Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 But many are cast off and killed because they can not race. a cruel way to treat a dog. Pigeons very similar things happen because of..... I like the spectacle and the challenge of the race but I am always sad when a horse falls and it always brings atear to my eye. I have worked at Uttoxeter races on many occaisons only to see because it is windy a horse per race being destryed and two at one go.
