Well the plan backfired I came back down to the loft not too long ago to find a freshly killed doo on the grass in front of the loft but I must have frightened the hawk off it as I drive up as seen it coming out the tree next to the loft ... Time to sit and wait

ur a month 2 quick mate , but look on yhe bright side it will be back

Alf you dont want ants to eat the carcass so sprinkle it with Ant Powder to be on the safe side. This is the worst year I have ever heard for kills at home or at training. God help us.

Yes you are right, I've always had 30/40 on open loft for over 20yrs. and lost a few every year but this year is completely different, I've had to shut them up, 9 killed in the last few weeks, hen spar., gos and percy, and one stitched with corn spilling from crop, No chance of young birds going out, the mob on open loft are very streetwise so if they can't cope what chance would they have, It's becoming impossible
