Diamond dave
I've just bought a couple of bags of Tic Beans and it has about 15% of the beans affected by Weevil. I only paID £7.00 per 25 kilos but I don't know whether to give it to them or not now I have seen these weevil. Will the affected beans harm the birds in any way......? D.D. peter pandy
If the bean has a hole the weevil is out. The weevil lays an egg when the bean is growing in the field and eats its way out hence the hole.
GhEtToStar
and report the bassa. Why would you report a pigeon food supplier for weevils and what would you report them for as the bean weevil is not noticed until it emerges from the beans and it is perfectly legal to sell beans/peas with weevil holes in them for animal and human consumption. Guest Owen
The weevils ruin the beans because they eat the germ which is the bit that sprouts and is the most important part of the bean as far as nutrition goes. I would take them back and get my money back. You seem to think that these beans are cheap but believe me they are dear for under standard pigeon food.
