with Only 8 weeks or so until the first race of the season is everybody now dusting of the old baskets and getting prepared to start training in a couple of weeks, When will you start training and how far will you be training them from in order to get your birds in the best possible shape before the new season.

Being retired I'm able to fly my birds daily throughout the winter months and while sitting the cocks go out am and the hens at 1-00pm.The birds are pretty much fit with this routine so when the youngsters are weaned 2 weeks before the first race I just give them 3-15mls tosses then into the first race approx 90mls.I wouldn't think of training unless the birds were flying for around an hour a day.atb.

Birds never been out since racing stopped which is the norm, friend cleaned and stained all the baskets looking like new, will let the birds out once the weather improves and when i am working at home more regular as away in mornings early and nearly dark when i get home ,but no panic yet the races will be won when the weather heats up we hope :emoticon-0157-sun:

Had their first chuck today - Beautiful day. Took the w.hood cocks along with 4 latebreds. Only went about 4 miles just to show the Latebreds the ropes.

- I think tomorrow (Sunday) is going to be a good day too so I think they will go again then.

- BRING IT ON.
