Elvan Willgrass Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 I have just recently received two Unikon ETS systems I won and I already have Bricon. However I have just built a new young bird loft and was thinking of using one for this loft instead of buying another pad. I am not a big in young bird flying as I race only five and just train the rest. Regarding the the two systems I have won, one is without a pocket clock while the other one is the full system and I have a buyer for the full system so my question is could I still race with one without the pocket clock. Another help would be if I had a land-line not a mobile phone number for Unikon.

Sounds a Cr*p way to work but that's what they (Unicon) say. Don't know what you do with the base plate when you get to the club though?

You need to get the information passed some how. What if the flyers base plate was plugged into the computer and syncronised? Don't know how long the connections would last though. And it would be a lot of messing about, this still would not mark the birds either. You must need a pocket clock.
ovy1255 Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 you take base to clocksetter who loads all info ---assigned info into it just like you do with pocket clock, the base is your clock.take the base on friday night when basketing and on saturday for read off.

Dont know if it says anything in the manual. Alex - What he has is known as the Solo system - No need for a pocket clock as the birds details is contained within the base. And yes, you need to take the base to the Club on a Friday and Saturday to enter your birds and same for the return from the race. You can at anytime get it upgradeto the Champ 500 that has the Pocket Clock included. The Champ 200 – The most cost effective way to start with UNIKON. These starter systems do not include a pocket clock however one can be easily added at any time. The Champ PC500 - This includes a pocket clock The Champ PC500 Plus - As PC500 and includes Bluetooth and USB built in to the loft clock to allow the system to TEXT you as birds clock in. You can connect to a PC using USB and print arrivals at home using UNIKON.Link software.
ovy1255 Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 if this is the case whats the point in having a pocket clock pocket clock --as it says fits in your pocket and the base is left at home to clock latecomers-------this is good in the n/east as we have to be read off within 2hours of clocking on what i usually do is one hour after clocking i go to pick up other members and head to club for read off. on return to loft you can see how far behind the late birds are,
Elvan Willgrass Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks for the information, I have spoken to Unikon and you can definitely clock on, read out and do the calculations or anything else that you can do with one that has has a pocket clock other than time on if the base unit is not at the loft.
