why do people change the feed so much?should you feed a heavier seed during the winter?i was thinking that if people who work during the day and only fly the birds at weekends then the body weight would go up?or is oatmeal and tic beans a lighter diet?i would likwe to know more about everyones feeding methods and why?

why change feed ???

(1) Change of exercising regime

(2) moult

(3) less active birds

(4) don't want fat birds

(5) hens will lay better when not fat

(6) birds will be healther on a diet that suits

(7) birds have different requirements on cold days / warmer days

(8) barley and wheat are cheaper

(9) protein puts too much fat on before breeding when on lock up

(10 ) hungry hens wont pair together

there's just a few reasons I'm sure there's many more :)

old hand put the fancie back 20 years don't live in the past.

it is a different ball game in these modern times, pigeons are

not the same as they were 40 years ago and neither is the feeding

your system might suit u but not me JMO

Cheers for the replies guys,

im only using beans and golden boost at mo wasnt sure if i should lighten up over the winter hence why i asked lol, but i guess with the massive choice on corn that we have i supose you could have a hundered different answers so ill prob use a good resting mix until i pair up but thanks again to all who replied.
