When did it stop Alf?

 

I was there as a wee laddie with guys from the now defunct Kyle fed from Stranraer .I was 13 then. Very happy memories indeed.

THE SHOW HUSNAE BEEN AT DAM PARK FOR YEARS NOO MATE NOT TO SURE HOW LONG THOUGH

Was BIS wae a red hen many years ago. Stopped her at 100 mile for the shows!!!! How times have changed?????

I remember Big Jim Mclymont from Stranraer paying £120 for a kirkpatrick hen at the auctions and that was a lot of money then.

Well !! he came out of the show stumbled across the road to the train station, pished out of his mind and dropped the box with her in...The hen flew onto the station roof and he never got her back or ever saw her again..Those were the days and about 32 years ago.

What a laugh on the train on the way home.He was a sick man when he woke up in the morning i can tell you.

I think big Jim still flys a doo in the toon.!.Happy days right enough.

I think it finished about 10 years ago. Dam Park Hall is now part of (I think) Paisley University.

It was a great one day show and always about 5th of December.

I judged there once and still cherish the tie I was given by Elenor Grant to mark the occasion.
