sapper756 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 I heard a lot of unrest at my loft last night while the youngsters were out, when I went out all my youngsters were just small dots high up in the sky, how ever a screatching noise from my neighbors garden caught my attention, on looking over, I saw a hawk on top of a starling, the hawk took off, dropping the bird. How ever, once I got my youngsters in, 1 was missinghttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0179-headbang.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0179-headbang.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0179-headbang.gif
VAGIN Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 THats sad m8 Why dont you send the foto to the RSPB site along with a few lines just too let them know how we all feel about the situation.I could garantee you they would not show it. They are as much to blame as the BOPS
geordie1234 Posted July 5, 2011 Author Report Posted July 5, 2011 beginning to feel like we are the cruel ones sending doos there is no chance ye dont get hit
Guest homestead Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 beginning to feel like we are the cruel ones sending doos there is no chance ye dont get hit the RSPB already think that pigeon racing is cruel the issue is to limit the numbers of BOP being released in the wild especially from the Lakes and North of the Border

hawked again Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 I suggested a couple of weeks ago that we should send photos of our hawked doos to the Government and ask for damages when I found an article in the BHW (1st April issue) said that a Austrian court had ruled in favour of pigeon fanciers getting compo from the State. I emailed Mr Salmond and copied in the SHU on Sunday (photos attached) so will keep you updated if I ever get a reply. It was shocking what happened. Most of the youngsters were sitting on the house roof (exercising) when young Bobby landed amongst them, he walked about six feet with his left wing hanging down then died. He just stopped moving and rolled of the roof, I thought someone had shot him at first. He landed on the path with a right thump about four feet away from me. His backend was marked and half his tail was missing and there was a single talon hole in the centre front of his chest that went through his crop and punctured his heart I assume. We should all be writing off to the people in the “big hoose†until they start listening to us.
