ive been told black splash is only in cocks yet i had a very good hen that had the black splash through her, also i find it very hard to get returns of mealy or red birds from racing, the ones that have got back have allways been badly hawked, is it a coulor thing with predators i wonder, atb davie.

Should point out this is the ONLY Red based pigeon in my lofts, if he scores fae Ypres there could be more

Didnae get him until next day but considering he is an 09 latebred and he had already done Marlborough i'll forgive him coming late, just this once though

Ash Spread carrying black i.e. barless mealy in looks is top of the table in colour, best way of getting beetle Blacks with extremly good colour.

Spread is the intense colour, lots of Black spreads around ebony, van reils etc, just firms up colour into a deeper colour.

Impure Blacks are Cqs or Bars in some you see the bars, hens that are ticked are not carring any colour other than the colour they are, the tick is brown to the eye but is infact red.

Dark Chq will do the job if no Black is at hand.
