big blue bar Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 This last weeks race we were at liecester 296 miles and THREE yes three of the birds we got back on sunday looked like they had been attacked by bops two with half tails and one with half it wing out . There must be somthing that can be done , surly there must be sombody out there who flys pigeon that nows the ins ands outs off the law that can help , must be a loop hole someplace that allows us to do somthing about it . we must be the only nown sport that the competitors are allowed to be EATEN
Guest peter4pm Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 its murder m8 i lost 4 birds on sunday just letting them out to fly around the loft ..its a disgrace to say the least
hawked again Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 There was an article in the BHW last week that said a court in Europe had said that racing pigeon keepers can now claim compo for loss of birds from the state. I see you are in Aberdeen so why don't you take photos of the injured birds and send them down to the 1/2 billion monstrosity in Edinburgh and try to make a claim, quoting the court in Europe. Copy in big Alex. You may not get compo but it may give us some good publicity in the papers or TV.

big blue bar Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 thats a good idea i ll take some pictures tomorrow who do i send them to ? or will i be better speaking to our local MP and giving him the pictures
Guest stb- Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 i had 11 birds hawked this year and 3 strays in as fresh as daiseys but had there wing and tail out
hawked again Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 I thought of the idea as soon as I saw it in the BHW but I have had no birds home hawked this year since our local sparrow hawk went away in MARCH. Don't have a clue what happened to her! Every fancier in the country should do it! I think publicity is the key.
kev01293 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 bilco had a post on another site about bops having been released without the neccasary licence being issued somebody posted that us fanciers should chip in to hire a lawyer to check the ins and outs of it all, something has to be done thats for sure, several fanciers have put forward ideas recently but we all need to get organised and have somebody represent us before its too late if it aint already? did anyone else read bilcos post?
