I live in North Yorkshire and fly 112 miles from Peterborough,yesterday we were at Clermont the temp here was 24 degrees and i got 1 out of 6.Today it is 12 degrees and a strong North East wind there has been nothing in the sky all day and i have still nothing back from yesterday it would take a good bird to fly up here today.

Never got a doo until 15.23.58 from Peterborough, very disappointed in the older birds i sent to this race (3/9) and although WELL off the pace 4 of my first 5 doos were Yearlings.

Its been cold and overcast in North Yorkshire although the South Road birds with the GYA from Billericay (200 miles) have come well. Our north road birds however from Thurso despite having the wind with them are very gappy and lots missing. The pigeons have returned wet so I think there have been more showers about than the weathermen forecast, infact its been 10 times worse than the forecast.

 

People I have spoke to who raced yesterday from Clermont have good returns.

Last Doo home came with a young one, poor wee blighters wings were dragging! Can't see many more back tonight, they must be knackered by now!

my old man and uncle in at 14:05 with a yearling vel roughley 1192 and 14/27 so far

first doo was yearling 14.23 vel roughly - 1137

returns 23/31 with the last bird coming at 18.45 the 8 to come all yearlings. 2 of the birds came back injured by bop, 1 doo had half a tail and the other had damaged wing.
