sapper756 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 If a bird has a badly damaged flight, and the fancier decides to pull out the damaged flight, how long does it take for the bird to fully grow a new flight? And what effect will this have on the bird, if any? JohnQuinn Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 takes about 6 weeks Bang on, and it stops the moult until the new flight has grown, then it continues where it left off.
Delboy Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 If the flight is broken then you can join it with another cut flight using a needle and super glue. Similar to joining two bits of wood with a dowel.I won Cheltenham with a yearling after doing this.
andy Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 I prefer a plastic cocktail stick rather than a needle Del
