OLDYELLOW Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 flag them then tennis ball them once you've got a routeen and keep to it your birds will benefit , what stage are you at re breeding and system your flying ??

Guest pigeondave Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 i think i would rather take them training, than let them do that.
OLDYELLOW Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 i think i would rather take them training, than let them do that. wouldn't be much point training them if not fit

Cogburn Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 they are fit as iv been traing them morning and night 15ml and they are doing it in 11 min because they wont fly at home why i dont no It can be tricky to get them going for any length of time round the loft if they are being tossed. The guys I've seen whos doos seem to go like the clappers round the doors give them very little training by road but you'll want to get them some tosses under their belt to get them started for the year??

Another thing I found with pigeons I had on roundabout for the first few races last season was that they flew better round the hut when they were only getting out once a day. Each to their own though
OLDYELLOW Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 if there getting tossed i aint surprised there only doing 15 minutes
ken Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 they where doing about 10 or 15 min around the hut before i started to take them away
OLDYELLOW Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 they where doing about 10 or 15 min around the hut before i started to take them awayas been said you can't have your cake an eat it , I usually let mine out for a half an hour then basket them then take them training , 2 tosses at 15 mile is ok if temp above 10 degree and wind not from north or east , otherwise it takes it out of them , imo your asking to much of them it's only early yet

Think with widowers or roundabout pigeons how well they fly round home depends on the feeding as well
lvlasked Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 im on natural cocks and hens fly around the loft for an hour and 15mins ever evening they only let out once again and again thanks to oldyellow i feed them a light feed in the morning now
