ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 do you feel that members who always give insults abuse should be taken off for number of days
just ask me Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 maybe an idea but what is an insult sometimes theres a bit of craic here
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 i agree but also alot of abuse read some of threads you can banter but its not all banteris it

ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 it tends to ruin a good discussion bringing it to an end and theres no need for it just because youer hideing behind screen??
just ask me Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 yes but chris pll have different reasons for not putting there real name up here dont mean to big headed but the last two year im winning more than my fair share and u are not the most popular person when u do so i use a false name so i can come on here and have a chat or what ever with out anyone knowing who i am as u would not belive the sh** i have to put up with
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 yes i know i like the truth look at the s i get
Merlin Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Most of it is just banter and enjoyable, and when anyone does resort to being insulting,it reflects badly on themselves, after all its mostly adults posting, and we are capable of drawing our own conclusions, and making our own minds up about things.
Guest peter.j Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 i think its up to the injured party to report it and if its deemed by a mod and or admin to be insulting then it should be removed along with the author for a set period if the author offends again in a set time then suspension is doubled j.m.h.o..........pete
Taylorsloft Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 am sure its all in good fun .but you have to draw the line somewhere .or theres the other way if you cant stand the heat get out of the fire ;D ;D ;D
DOVEScot Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 am sure its all in good fun .but you have to draw the line somewhere .or theres the other way if you cant stand the heat get out of the fire ;D ;D ;D That is the biggest problem, WHO draws the line or WHERE does the line get drawn, only way is zero tolerance, that has been tried before but as in reality it never will work on an open forum. If the forum is a true cross membership of pigeon fanciers then you will get a true cross posting of views like you would in any forum, pub, club, workplace or gathering, the trouble with the internet is it is not a natural tool of interaction. As soon as you meet someone in person you get an idea of how they will react, you will never get that on a computer screen. The difference is some has a delete button and a lot of things that in person would be dealt with or shelved, Me personally love the banter, I can look someone in the eye and tell them the truth as I see it also look them straight in the eye and tell them they're a lying git as I see it I know that there are members on here that cannot deal with banter and would like to see it banned and members that cannot deal with the truth and would to or love having control of the delete button :-/
pjc Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Agree with you Dovey, its life but there is no need for anybody to swear, or get personaly abusive as has happened in the last couple of days. There are junior members and women who use this forum! Phil

There are junior members and women who use this forum! Phil i agree, last night [to be fair very late last night] it was bang out of order,it was not banter it was abuse,to me there is a vast difference between winding people up, and what was going on in one of the posts,i think it was the one about losses,[might have been taken off by now]it was plain nasty and reflects very badly on us if the "norms" look in on the site

Could you imagine a football forum where you couldn't criticise or banter, but I must say there is a zero tolerance on swearing on the one I listen to, Ewan and Ruffy, Real football phone in 101fm

Guest shadow Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 banter is fine but some people go far beyond banter and when pulled up about instantly back off and claim they were joking if some one constantly does it they should be asked to moderate their language failing that have their membership withdrawn the site does not need idiots who can not post without reverting to those tactics or swearing
Roland Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Always said that there should be a topic collumn for letting of steam f at each other. Like the Camanco's. If one was 'Having a go' then a said party would invite the oher(s) into that section. One had to enlist seperately to gain access with another Password. Anyone and everyone with a point of view, or a beef to get shot of, went int that section and sorted it till it had run it's course. If any one - normally trying to drum up others support, making bullets for another to fire, etc. etc. tried to bring it onto the 'Public Domain' - whether vieled or not, then the'd be censored and the posts deleted. If they persisted... then they weren't missed! Soon most were friends again and problem sorted. Strange it is o see some at logger heads in the 'Ring' yet still post to each other as normal on the Public Domain as if nothing was going on there. Have bought this up a few times, so I suppose the powers to be feel that it isn't needed or wanted...
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 thy person concerned is along time member should know better i have taken some stick and do not resort to abuse i do make comments like love him or the such but it ruined a good thread but any done lost gone but there were a few newbe on last night

ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 i tend to look to see who is on line as i did with my self and tom then send them pm to join instead of waiting to abuse 4 newbiis that night all joined between6 630 one went of after pm but at least they did not cause prpblem in our disscusion older members made sarcastic comments but it was all fun and good
