Webmaster Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I note the dicussion on pigeon sales and pigeon sellers. Do members wish that the reputation system be returned to the site? Each member has a single vote on every other member on the forum. They can either vote, positively, or negatively or have no vote. There are no comments to accompany the vote. The reason that it was removed from the forum was that some members took it upon themselves to negavitely vote for another member if they disagreed with their opinion in one of the political debates we had goin at the time. Those members then took offence that they had a lower reputation for this. i am willing to reinstate the feature if the general membership wishes so.
Guest j.bamling Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 what was the reputation system ?
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 For the reasons that you have given for its removal - I don't think it is a good idea Can you think of anything else?
sapper756 Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Don,t think this is a good idea, I think it will cause more hassle than prevent. :-/
Guest j.bamling Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 i cant remember this when it was on but i think with all the hassle at the minute there is no point adding to it ?
Guest Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Don't think that would be fare as alot of people don't know each other so how could they vote?.Think people would just vote for their friends and use negative votes to have a go at people they have fallen out with
ALF Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Don't think that would be fare as alot of people don't know each other so how could they vote?.Think people would just vote for their friends and use negative votes to have a go at people they have fallen out with EXACTLY THATS WHY I VOTED NO
Webmaster Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 Don't think that would be fare as alot of people don't know each other so how could they vote?.Think people would just vote for their friends and use negative votes to have a go at people they have fallen out with It isnt a requirement to vote on anyone's reputation. Only if they have posted something very informative, or helped you in some way (I guess) you would vote positively for them. Likewise negative.
EAGLEOWL Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 richard its a great site mate ,we have had lots of polls of late ,no poll can be a true poll like i said in another post has you know its called mpd . people should lighten up and get a sense of humour. ;D ;D ;D
DOVEScot Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 It isnt a requirement to vote on anyone's reputation. Only if they have posted something very informative, or helped you in some way (I guess) you would vote positively for them. Likewise negative. I think reputation would be best deserved On posts Only if it was kept as simple as, I found this information helpful or unhelpful Just because you find information posted unhelpful does not make it wrong Negative and positive would be more offensive I think, and would lead to arguments on matters of opinion I found this information to be negative opens the door to another problem and arguments and could be viewed as a member being negative on the site which is totally different from being unhelpful, Then you would see the members that are willing to help and rated as this only "helpful members" On sales Sales would be a different approach and positive and negative would help I found this sale a positive experience I found this sale a negative experience This could apply to buyers and sellers with explanations attached Chit Chat Neither of the above, Maybe we should adult and junior chit chat in the sense of jokes, cutting humour etc because sometimes members get a bit carried away sometimes Just an opinion Duncan AKA DOVEScot
timbarra Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Hi , i agree with doescot on the positive ,negative feed back vote on buyers and sellers, thats a good idea. i do think peoples opinions are important but as i and some others have found out , opinions can turn into witch hunts and give people the perseption of being bullied and victimised, persicuted and isolated. these are serious issues and i for one am not happy with how i have been treated of late, my options are being considered, i believe this site to be a good one, but something i feel has to be done to protect individials from vindictive behaviour of a small minded group. also people being ripped off when buying birds. whatever you vote does it matter now??? insults have been flung and damage done to reputations... should you not have done something sooner, why did you let things go so far.. its called lack of resposibility to your sites users !!! i have had disagreement with some on here and mostly i have made friends here, but ask yourself this why in the last diobolical debate did only one stand up for me ?? because the rest do not want to get involved as they possibly believe the baying mob will single them out next. what way is this to behave... ok i am not innocent of everything and can give as good as i get , but do i log on here to be goaded and insulted in an attempt to discredit me.. your the administrator .. you tell me ? how much sh** does one have to endure before you finally say enough is enough... :-/
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 EXACTLY THATS WHY I VOTED NO BECAUSE YOU ARE A SHEEP AND JUST FOLLOW ON
FOXY Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Don't think that would be fare as alot of people don't know each other so how could they vote?.Think people would just vote for their friends and use negative votes to have a go at people they have fallen out with A very valid point .
883girl Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Worries me a tad! What about the newbies, could be absolutely fine but no-one would know them, how do you build your reputation? I'm a novice and am learning from all on here, would they be bothered to answer my meagre questions if i didn't have good feedback or a reputation?

Guest dogeon Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 i voted yes. reson being i dont no anyone on here and when people advertize birds i'm a little worried, as for what ive gathered there are bad sellers ie COXY (no offence to good sellers) but something like ebay rating would be good even if it was just on the buying and selling forum
Guest Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 A very valid point . Does that mean I get a positive vote then? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
