Roland Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 With an eye open of the coming up of the England V France game this Saturday, will this game, as it should, go quite a long way to put ALL the teams, and their performances in prospective!?. To place them in the slot they are in and deserve to be in!? Should tell us just how good - or bad - they really are. Further just where they stand in regards of making ground, progress, for the coming prestigous World Cup that we are all endeavouring to do well in. Indeed what all nations must be, and are building toward ultimately surely.
Guest wes hall Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 yes roland i will be there with our french friends coming over got 10 tickets i think its great to see the english playing the way they are but still got that naging feeling we will be let down again i realy hope not i will take some stick from the frenchi think england beeting wales in wales has got them going then they have irland in irland i think another big one come on england theres a few bottles of red on it
just ask me Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 think the test for the english will be both the french and irish game to see where all 3 teams stand even though the irish should of beat the french i still think the french are no 1 with the irish 2nd best team

Wales will beat Ireland, no two ways about that I fear. Scots may well beat them too, and the Italians will beat the Scots to boot. So in reality it seems just how far in front of the pack are the English at this stage! Yes I know that they will improve even a lot more yet, of course they will. But as of this Saturday, the yardstick will be well placed I think!
just ask me Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 think you need to stay off that drink roland its badlly effecting your judgement

You obviously know next to nothing about the game, notwithstanding my respect for your opinion, it is only an opinion - and a typically superiority complex-ridden one at that ! We just love it though ! But don't come on here looking for sympathy when France and Ireland hand ye ye're asses 'cos if you think beting a poor Welsh team and a completely inept bunch of Italians puts you in the 1st class seats to the WC then prepare for a fall my friend ! Here's to the weekend......and a few home truths ! All the best, Steve
billt Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I'm not the biggest rugby fan but wasn't it Ireland that won with a late drop goal against that inept Italian side that England humped
Roland Posted February 21, 2011 Author Report Posted February 21, 2011 Well i must say that stranger things have happened like that Fly_caster! But in reality there is more chance to pee in the Pope's ear from 50 yards in a head wind lol.
Fly_caster Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I'm not the biggest rugby fan but wasn't it Ireland that won with a late drop goal against that inept Italian side that England humped Yep - and one of our worst performances ever - nonetheless - we won. I'd like to think that our performance against the French was more like our ability, and we didn't deserve to win that. My point was that a super performance against a weak Italian team by England is not a barometer of what they are going to do either against Ireland or France. We'll see on Saturday though. Cheers, Steve

billt Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 playing italy at home and away are two differnt things for some reason or another they dont play away from homeAnd I thought the hot blooded Italian stallions always played away from home
just ask me Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 And I thought the hot blooded Italian stallions always played away from home that just a rumor no truth too it

All the best, Steve Tell you what Fly-caster, none of the walking down Main Street naked and going into M & S on a Saturday afternoon and crapping in the till.... but I am confident. Confident enough to pledge that I will give you a youngster from my stock loft if Ireland beat England in this series. Can't be fairer than that. As for Scotland playing better ANY where away or at home, the realism is that they are as bad any wahere lol P.s. never looked for any sympathy, least of all expect any when England fail to achieve what we hope. one in life has to learn to accept.... easier to heal tattered dreams and hopes and faith in the next game. Something Scotland, Ireland have to learn. Maybe if the Scots stopped singing about a non events of over 700 odd years ago and smelt the coffee, and came into the real world they would be able to compete. Like I believe, had no great match winner since Gavin went!
Guest grizzler Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 come saturday, england will take another step towards being crowned six nations chammpions sorry if some of you dont like it c,mon england
Guest strapper Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 if you ask me ..honestly ill reply with....i think all the teams are a low standard compared to the ever strong southern hemishere teams ..africa.aussie and the all blacks...year after year they have strong teams even although they may get beaten from time to time... england wales scotland and ireland have not the strength in depth each year to combat what the other teams can offer constantly.

Forget the youngster and we'll make it a few friendly pints the next time we are in each others company - OK ? Best of luck Saturday - I'll be watching

Am somewhat surprised there with you Paul. I don't for a moment think we are 'Way behind the Aussies / South Africa and New Zealand etc. Yes the Welsh and Scots have blended together lighter sides in the hope and wish for and dependence on speed. Unfortunately this means too much going side ways and being unable to thrust forward. Yet the English are now just about up on par with any of them. THEY display strength and speed with big weighty guys that can hold and quell much. Sure a little way to go yet, and time is enough for them to strength and moulded and weld together still a lot tighter and well balanced side. France are always there about and the drubbing that they received from the Aussies last time showed them that they too needed to reform and rebuild. Of course they do. Unlike Scotland and Wales, England has the players and in depth to bring these to the fore. But Paul, I think also there is a very real, and meaningful part not being used - on purpose too i believe - that England haven't needed to bring into play. A ploy that will pay very big dividends, when needed, as they now have on board 4 - 5 very capable players able to do it with confidence. Namely the ability of scoring drop goals, gaining any needed points! Wilkinson and co under Johnson hasn’t used this at all.... though he played in a very successful era when we won, and won well including the lat two World Cups. These weren’t needed obviously, though many chances have been refused when presenting themselves, playing instead to build up on a structure of scoring tries.
