Daisymay Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 Thats a long time ago m8, how are these birds doing nowadays? Maybe some of the north boys will let us know ? My point exactly they winnin all where they go quality doos from a great fancier Who else is winning with them ??? and not just the odd one here and there.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 My point exactly Who else is winning with them ??? and not just the odd one here and there. Bob McDonald has nothing to prove. Bob is an ambassador for our sport and is known all over the world. His birds are still winning all over the country and beyond. What point are you trying to make here?
DJWa Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Anybody know of anyone doing well with these bird's.Who,When and where. bob himself at 85 years young topped his fed twice last year one of the races was his feds longest at around 490 miles but im sure any north fed boys will confirm this
Ian McKay Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Kingslea One loft race 2009 was won by SU09AB2153 the dam of this bird was a Ko Nip bred by Bob McDonald the bird owner for the race was Bryan Brock from this forum Bob McDonald had reason to visit here one week after the race he visited the stock birds and picked out a hen he said it was related to his family I informed him he bred it for G B Coutts 9 years earlier he had never seen it since giving it to Gary We went upstairs in the loft and gave him SU09AB2153 and asked him to tell me about it he was shocked and said I have not handled a young bird like this for 15 yrs he asked what are you feeding I said never mind Bob but I can tell you it's bred from your hen. The bird flew the SNFC Leicester young birds race 318 miles and clocked Bob had NOT been in my loft before nuf said
BLACK W F Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 ONE OF THE GREATEST FANCIERS I HAVE EVER MET AND A TRUE GENT HIS BIRDS ARE WINNING ALL WHERE
b.massey Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 We have Bobs stuff in our loft.. One point to say is if you buy them from Bob then cross them. He tells you that himself. Very inbred. But Top class flying and lookers. They dark pieds and dark wf would grace any loft in racing or showing
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Have to agree with all this man knows a thing or two about doo's. Think i start a Bob McDonald Fan Club 'L O L' Rab Smith
Delboy Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Well, I dont think there is any question about Bob Macdonald being one of the all time greats in Scotland. The man has gained great respect from everyone that knows him.
Guest Hjaltland Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Twenty years ago Bob kindly sent me up several youngsters and the descendants form the basis of my racers today. I took his advice on racing all out and breeding off what was left, so the Bob Macdonald Ko Nipius Jan Aardens fly in one of the most arduous routes you could imagine. This man is a true gent and I'm glad I met him all those years ago.. the fact that this family still forms the basis of my pigeons here in the far northern isles is testimony to their abilities. All the best Bob if you happen to read this.
