Coonsil head wans get yir act the gether ya bunch owe NUMPTYS, I have it on very good authority that 80% of North Lanarkshire Council's blue bin contents are sent straight to landfill sites because they don't have the facilities to process it. It'll be the same everywhere

Guest IB Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 It's not really a one Council thing in Scotland, its a National Strategy to reduce waste, and it's been running for at least 5 years, with annual targets. http://www.falkirk.gov.uk/services/development/waste_strategy/National%20Waste%20Plan%20for%20Scotland.pdf Can only speak for my own area which has 2 recycling points of the type described. I've been to Kinneil once with my club's waste (dirty wood shavings), it's well laid out. All the other stuff gets lifted from the doorstep. Falkirk Stats are 95,000 tons waste produced every year; 40% of which is recycled (up from 25% in 2006). Targets for all Councils are 50% by 2013 and 70% by 2025. I think it's well worthwhile doing.
